Last night my friend told me that she saw a group of travelers parked up near by and they have a staffie dog. One of the travelers was beating it with a stick (a large one) as it was tied tight to a caravan. She wanted to stop but because of who they are she thought it was best that she didnt. It has been playing on my mind all last night and today. Because i have 4 staffie's of my own it makes me feel sick to my stomach. Should i call the police? RSPCA? I dont think i will be able to live with the thought of that poor dog being beat!!

Sorry I'm a bit of look for both sides of the storey. Your friend may have witness the dog being reprimanded although using a large stick or to beat a dog is not the way I would deal with it. No I do not agree with any type of animal cruelty, and as a staffie owner myself I know a strict line has to be taken with this breed of dog. But it may have just pushed the boundaries too far and may have gone for one of them or worse still gone for a child. They are lovely dogs but I wouldn't leave mine unattended with any small children around or people she doesn't know.

But surely beating it with a stick she witnessed for more than 5 minutes is a bit brutal??? I know u have to bring them up with an iron rod (exspression, didnt actually do it) but im sure there are boundaries on how far to go when submitting punishment?

(wonder if ours are realated being from the same area)
