In a year we will be moving to England for college and I'll also be getting a horse. I'm probably getting a Connemara because I ride one at my barn and they are pretty sweet (don't come at me with the "just because it's a connemara doesn't mean they are all sweet" They are also my dream horse) but since I'm not sure I can't buy saddles at the moment (They have to be fitted according to the horse). I have a rope halter which is in size cob but it can be fitted for size horse too. I also have a lead rope and a grooming kit. What else should I get? It should be able to be used with both a cob and a horse since I'm not too sure what i'll be getting yet.

There really is not much you can get until you buy the horse as most things will have to be correctly fitted, a saddlepad is probably the only thing that will be useful, a good grooming kit, first aid kit and gear for yourself for all weathers would also be a good idea.

Depending upon how you plan to keep the horse you could buy things like mucking out kit, buckets, haynets, equipment for you (helmet, boots, gloves, hi-viz, waterproofs, wellies etc).

You could buy some nice stirrups, I really like my flexi ones. Hi viz is pretty essential in England, as are warm, waterproof jackets and boots.
Good luck with the move and future horse shopping.

Given that whatever you get you are going to have to ship over here it might be best to keep to smaller items. Mucking out kit etc might be too much of a pain to ship. Also depending on where - and how - you plan to keep the horse you may or may not need it. If you buy a riding hat make sure it is to a suitable standard for the UK and for whatever discipline you want to focus on.
