Hello all,

I am going for my first position at a yard and was wondering what would be the most suitable attire. The yard is very upmarket with a lot of wealthy clients. I will be mucking out, grooming, tacking up, possibly talking to clients etc but I won't actually be riding.

Thank you all for your help,

Wear whatever you feel most comfortable in and make sure its practical! I work on a yard and usually wear jeans or johds (i dont ride at work much but find johds are warm and cumfy!). As long as ur not dressed like a tramp you should be fine........ Smart and functional! :)

Firstly - Good luck with the job.

I'd second the wear dark jods comment, but would follow that up with don't wear bright colours either and beware what it says on your top. Lesson learnt the hard way.
I turned up to work on a posh private dressage yard with one of my driving team polo shirts on, and forgot the message on the back. Whoops. :p

Well, I'm not starting until the Summer, so layers should not be much of a problem. Thank you all for your help, you have made sure I go to the interview looking decent and smart so fingers crossed and thumbs up for all of you!

All the best and happy riding! :)
