Hi

I am hoping to do some local shows with my pony in the summer, but I'm not sure what we could do. I am a novice rider and he is only young just turned 5. We have a great instructor who has helped loads, but would like to have something to aim for. Are cantering needs a lot of work so I was thinking of maybe walk/trot test? Or what other shows are there we could do? They can be more serious ones or fun classes. Oh and I live in norfolk if that makes any difference. I have added some photos below so you can see what he looks like.
Thanks

What breed is he?
You could do some inhand classes to get a feel for being at a show?
It depends on what the local riding club has in the schedule as loads vary.

in the in hand classes u will just be asked to walk and trot him up mainly and they will have a good look around him, it will just get you used to being at a show.
you will have to ring the show u r thinking of going to and ask them to send u a program and in it it will tell u what classes they do and should say what the requirements are for the classes eg what height, age, breed and u will be able to pick some classes then

aww what a cutie!

classes you could try are
family pony
handy pony
gymkhana games
riding club/pony club pony

or on a more serious class you could try ridden young horse

best plan is to look out in your local tack shop for entry forms for riding club and pony club shows and see what classes you would like to do!
having a goal to aim for is great motivation! good luck
