Hello everyone!

So I was thinking of getting into a bit of showing this year, I have always competed dressage and only ever done a bit of showing with my old dressage horse who I occasionally showed in Ridden Hunter classes at local shows and once at Prestiege. Anyway I was wondering what classes would be good for my rising 6 year old Cobbemara? He is an Irish X (with A LOT of Connemara and Cob) and he is a stocky sort. He has a HUGE trot stride, like that of a Welsh D! I know that I can do ridden coloured with him but I was wondering on other classes? I was thinking Ridden Cob however what concerns me is that usually they tend to be either big, hairy traditional cobs or smart, hogged maxi cobs and Sandy is none of them haha! So I worry that he might fall through the cracks because a lot of judges just tend to like them types!
Any ideas are much appreciated!
Here is a picture of us at his first show, a Winter Woolies show haha! So please take a look and let me know what classes you think!

Ps. He normally looks a lot creamier and brighter in colour however it was a dull, overcast day and my camera is not very vibrant!

Judges like to see them shown to type, yours is not a traditional but could be very smart if trimmed up properly, you could either hog or plait but he needs everything else tidied up. He could then show in cobs if hogged or possibly small hunters at local level, there are also RC horse classes or workers if he jumps.

I wouldn't like to hog him because he has such a lovely blonde mane however I do plait him, I was thinking maybe Ridden Hunter pony? I know that he needs his legs trimming and face tidying however he is only 5 and I bought him totally green (never even seen a stable!) 9 months ago so, as you can guess, clippers are a problem! But he is slowly getting over it, you wouldn't think that he's only been broken for 9 months! Oh yes he jumps however I feel that at 5 and with him being so green I would rather stick to basic flatwork right now, I don't want to overface him!
