I have just purchased a little Section B mare and she appears very hard to fit for a bridle! She's almost XS Pony but needs a pony brow band. I've tried a Shetland (I think Ascot) bridle which fitted everywhere apart from the noseband which was too tight and the straps pulled towards her eyes all the time. She has a grackle bridle at the moment and the browband and throatlash is enormous! I've put a smaller browband on but looking to get her a new bridle but it appears these Welshies vary so much! Any recommendations or photos would be greatly appreciated! Ideally needs to be a Grackle or flash bridle.

On my small ponies I used a few different kinds but my fave was always Ascot Shetland with a really good quality noseband like Fylde - you can quite often find the nosebands second hand - This combo looked absolutely top quality but wasnt very expensive!

Or buy Fylde or English Bridles and get mix and match parts

Or the pricier version of Ascot - Dever which you assemble mix and match

I think it is the Ascot Flash bridle that I currently have in Shetland and thats where the browband and noseband is too small!

vortex equestrian make lovely bridles, and if you send her a message on facebook she’s happy to mix and match parts for you for no extra cost - i just told her my order number! my welsh c is in a cob bridle but with pony cheek pieces

I tried the eco rider yesterday and still not great - the nose and just pulls so close totally he eyes like my Ascot bridle. Also quite chunky on her face. It’s a shame as it’s a lovely bridle
