what size of rug??

he is 15.2hhs and he is 2 1/2 yr old also in middle of a growth. he is the one i posted about yesterday that is itchy. want to get a waterproof fly rug with neck for him, cant put it on him for a week or so. but want to have it for him, also if i could get a anti rub one. not sure on sizes as long time since i bought a rug. he is a strong draft bone. so what size do you think i would should get him and what one do you think. thats not too expensive. thanks foe all answers yesterday.
 
My 15.1 conn x tb ( good native shape!) wears 6'3" rugs so I guess depending on make a 6ft or 6'3" should fit but without really seeing your horse it's like asking how long is a piece of string!
 
they have them on ebay, but not great fit. looks like a cheap one. but if i am putting it on him in next week or so. a light to med weight waterproof rug with neck, would work. what you think, i know hard to know what size with out seeing him, its just i havent a clue with rugs been years opon years since i had one. but by reading online a 6'3 sounds hopefully right.
any rugs you would pick for him. thanks for help.
 
Measure him, middle of chest to end of his back leg, not round to his bum. Go up one size so he's got a bit of growing room.
 
tbh i would measure him and then get a rug from the shop and try it on him, but make sure you put a blanket on underneith so if it doesn't fit as different styles fit better than others it isn't all hairy because then they may not take it back. also if he is only 2.5 yrs then it may be worth getting a rug that is a bit big (not stupidly bit though) so that it lasts a little while and he doesn't grow out of it within 5 mins. hope thst helps :D ;)
