What size saddle do you have your 13'3/14h ponies in?

Im an experienced horse owner & I will obviously be getting a fitter & asking him to fit a saddle.. but just wondered roughly what sizes you have yours in? It's for a chunky NF cross with very little wither.. to be ridden by a 10 yr old.

We have a 13.3 highland...when my 9 year old daughter rides him she has a 15" Jeffries .....he also has a 16.5" Native Pony saddle for when I ride him. As my ass is considerably larger than hers....... Both XW fitting.

16 inches. He's also a NF and 13.3hh.

Here is what it looks like on him. Hes got big shoulders so its a straight cut WH show saddle.

I am 5'4 and I seem to fit in OK but I'm only a size 8 in clothing.

mines 14hh connie x something who takes 5ft 9 rugs! I have a native pony gp in 16.5". I'm 5ft 3 and 9 stone

I now have my 13.3 welch x in a 17" bates event saddle and a 17" falcon dressage saddle.

Mine's 14h, with a 17" thorowgood cob for the straighter cut (big araby shoulders) but we're having issues with it again - its a bit of a love hate relationship at the moment...

I ride in a 16.5 X Wide Thorowgood Cob. Fat Lad is a 13.3 Highland.

I fit Native Pony saddles, I'd say a 16.5 is most likely for your NF, possibly 16" or 17". You will need a very flat tree if he has no wither - make sure the saddle doesn't lift off the back at the back in rising trot , most saddles will be much too curvy and even if they fit width wise and are balanced front to back they can rock in rising trot.

I'm a tb owner so never had a native.. Even when I was a kid mum always put me on tb's even learnt on 1 from the age of 7.. So new to natives

13.2 highland has 16.5 inch wintec 2000 ( though saddler says wintecs come a bit longer?) she could easily take a 17inch or bigger
14.1 showpony can only take 16"
14.2 arab 16.5" wintec 2000
