What size saddle reply URGENT

What is the average length of saddle that would fit a 12.2 hh pony.
Urgent is because I have my eye on one in eBay that finishes very soon
 
Really, how long is a piece of string? It depends on your pony's conformation, who will be riding in the saddle, etc. Width and panel shape are also pretty important.

If it's cheap, take a chance, get a reputable saddler to fit it for you, and see if it works. If not, resell :)
 
It's for my 8 year old and I know there are many factors but just a rough idea. I would say she is just average pony of that height.
 
Yes I know what width but I never measured length as was not expecting there to be one I wanted so quickly:rolleyes: I knew roughly what length but just wanted to double check what you guys thought. Thanks
 
Normally about 14 maybe 15 but it totally depends on the saddle and shape of pony.
Remember the saddle shouldnt sit further back than the last rib.
But there are lots of other fitting points to remember.
Make sure you get a qualified fitter out if you buy one.
You don't want to hurt your pony, badly fitting saddles can do lots of damage.
 
Thanks everyone it is a 15" and hopefully I win it. If it does not fit i will just relist on eBay. I will get saddle fitter to come out wanting him out for my horse too anyway.
