I think the stables at the livery yard where my 16.2hh is are about 12' x 14'. He fits in there ok, anyway! At home where my 15.1hh is my stables are about 15' x 15' - lucky her! She can canter round in it if she wants to

At the moment I only have one 25 x 15, which TBH I hate as its just too big, its a nightmare to muck out. My other stables have been demolished, but I've just ordered 5 12 x 12s for myself, along with 30 12 x 12s for the liveries. I have 2 x 13.2s, 1 x 16hh, 1 x 16.1 and a 12hh, and 2 foals, but they'll live out.

Too late to edit but we have 2 stables, so the 2 horses aren't in together!

well, i thought mine was rather huge until i saw some of these pictures! i was dancing around in mine last week and call it his "studio flat" cos he can stand and walk around in the "lounge" ie no straw but have a massive straw "bedroom" for later in the evening at the back. but now im wanting even bigger - and im going to measure it tonight too

My 16.3hh is in a 12x18' and my 17hh is in a 12x12' (we built the larger stable for the 16.3hh as she used to get cast in the 12x12', other horse doesn't have any probs). xxx

Interesting post. I am looking into stabling for our new park ATM. I have a 15.1hh and my friends horse is 16.3hh. I was going to go for two 12ft x 12ft stables. Do you think that's big enough for the 16.3hh?
Think Minstral will be fine in a 12x12 but I'm now worried that her horse may get cast? He's IDx and at his current yard is in a 11ft x 10ft or threabouts, but as far as I know can't lie down in it.
