Rosie spaniel, now 6 months + has outgrown her puppy bed and crate now, so I've given her the old dogs' 'grown-up' bed. She approves, and doesn't mind the 'hand-me-down'. I've gone out and got the old girl, thinking of her joints now with this weather more so than ever before, and the fact she is whippet x has 'boney' elbows and such, a brand new bed. I like the plastic oval shaped ones as they are easy to clean, and you can add sheets and blankets dependant on time of year ect...

Anyway, made a minor error.... I 'forgot' how little the old girl is... and got a bed that is a bit big! (whippets are NOT great danes, apparently - who knew?!).
Lets just say, if we have any visiting dog, the double bed is made and ready! lol
Both dogs, and I approve of my minor mis-judgement, my mum thinks it is hilarious (told her on the phone)

So, just being nosey, what sort of beds do your dogs have?

Young dog so in training so has a choice of 3

cage overnight
flat duvet
or x large dog bed with sides with duvet inside

Mine have the plastic ones too. My lab x came with one, and it is too small for him i reckon, but he loves it. I got another smaller one for my staffy to use, and guess what? The lab uses it too! He looks like a pretzel but if he was not comfortable he would move.....right?

Daisy has a wicker basket in the kitchen - for use when watching us prepare food. A soffa in the sitting room for snoozing on with me or oh, and a double bed that we're also aloud in to for sleeping.

Em..... horses have 2 light weight turnouts, 1 heavy weight turnout and 2 stable rugs between them but one pup has:

his crate - with 2 snuggy paws blankets
his snuggy paws duvet for the car
a large cushion style bed (and ANOTHER snuggy paws blanket) in the study
his memory foam bed in our bedroom
his outgrown puppy bed
an old cat bed he doesn't really fit in but loves
a thick mexican blanket in the living room

And he still invariably sleeps on my feet on our bed!

Glancing round the room, my dogs have a spare sofa which is solely theirs, an oval furry dog bed which is far too small for all of them (purchasing error!) but they all love it, a duvet in front of the fire, a swivel chair with a piece of vetbed for extra comfort and our sofa which they invariably share.

There will generally one hound asleep out in the hallway on carpet, and quite often one will take themselves off to the kitchen where there are 4 double-folded duvets for them to use as beds. They are greyhounds after all, they do like their comforts :)

A king sized folded duvet in the kitchen inside a homemade cover, sofa in the lounge (shes on it now, I'm sat on the floor studying....), a double folded duvet upstairs in another cover but she mainly sleeps in bed on my pillows at night.

She's a greyhound and loves her creature comforts!!!

Kuranda and Tuffie plus a cage mat in the kitchen

And the very comfy big bed (and another Tuffie) in the lounge.

For three dogs, one sofa, one large waterproof oval bed, one waterproof square bed with three sides, one low wooden chest topped with a winter weight duvet doubled up, two waterproof foam beds on top of each other and the king-sized bed under supervision only. None of them like sharing and the whippet cross still whines at us all if he fancies a bed already occupied by somebody else!

Love our pampered lurchers/whippets/greyhounds! makes me feel sooo much better that I'm spoiling mine with a 'double bed'! We've got to look after the best, haven't we??
Thanks for sharing.

Just bought my two labs waterproof beds as cannot cope with soggy smelly fabric beds with this awful weather anymore. The constant vacuuming and washing. Best thing i ever did. Hair doesn't stick, wipe clean and can hose or shower clean. Older dog loves her new bed as so comfy for older joints. Have to add they also have leather sofa when i am not looking.

I got a second hand cot mattress for my old lurcher and I now recommend them to everyone. It is a proper sprung one so lovely and comfy and it is waterproof in case she has a leak in the night. I just put a towel on top for easy washing. :-)

Two dogs, two plastic beds with matching padded liners. Small bed is usually occupied by staffing lurched x who looks like she has folded herself up to squeeze in!
...And big (staffie size bed) is occupied by small (dominant) JRT!

But they do make very good hottie botties! Don't tell OH :D

My two have:

2 oval floor cushions one on top of the other next to the radiator
A choice of either sofas or either of the snuggly chairs in the sitting room
My bed!!

In one evening, they will probably have sampled all the downstairs options, and then retire to bed with me - Jasper has the right hand side tucked under the covers, and Bertie sleeps on top of the bed, and if cold, he will get under the covers too. Good job it is a big bed!
