Hi,
The test alone costs £115 and when I looked into it lessons/ the use of a car/trailer for your test was about £40 per hour.
I did a two day course (6 hrs each day) which included the test at the end for around £550. I really would recommend a few lessons even if you are experienced as there are certain ways they like things done and even though I towed regularly I don't think I would have passed without at least 6 hrs training.
if you're dad has a combination you can use, maybe consider an independent instructor-have a couple of lessons to get you set up, practice the manoeuvres with your dad a few times and then have some assessment lessons before the test.
I used a local independent instructor and an hour lesson with my combo was £30.
also if you plan to take your B+E test soon, get into good driving habits now-be really conscious of how you will be expected to drive on the test (big shoulder checks before pulling away from the kerb, proper mirror signal manoeuvre etc). boring but important!
I assume you need B+E and cannot use the B licence towing rules for some reason?
Near me in Leicester a 3 x half day B+E training with test on day 3 is about £650 all inclusive
If you have no personal recommendations in your area then go for B+E that is done with a LGV training company

SUPERVISING A B+E LEARNER
In April 2010 new rules were introduced for those supervising certain learner drivers but they only affected those supervising VOCATIONAL categories such as C1 C1+E D1 & D1+E where the supervising driver had those categories given to them for free when they passed a pre 1997 car test.
They do not affect those with a pre 1997 B+E licence who wish to supervise a B+E learner. All B licence holders have B+E provisional on the paper part of their licence and can tow an empty or loaded trailer on all roads including motorways.
The usual rules apply when a learner is driving -
The supervising driver must be aged over 21
The supervising driver must have held a B+E licence for at least 3 years
L plates must be fitted to the front of the vehicle and the rear of the trailer
