This bump appeared on my girl about 2 weeks ago and is now about the width of a pea. It is not sore at all and doesn't get irritated by tack. Its totally hard and absolutely flat on the top. I have no idea what it is. She's also got to smaller ones further down her jawline. I have no experience of sarcoids but having done some research it doesn't seem to match any kind or any kind of wart so am at a bit of a loss. I'm not too worried as its not effecting her in any way. So yeah... any clues?

Its very neat and the edges are quite clearly defined. The skin also looks a bit thickened. Probably nothing to worry about, but still I'd get it looked at.

if lump is on the jaw line could be indicate a tooth prob, EDT would be able to confirm or vet,, is your horse young??

Can't quite work out where it is from the photo. Is it under her head between the bottom of the jawbones? My mare gets lumps there usually in the summer time, they get a bit crust/scab on them probly a bit smaller than a pea. Tbh have never really worried about them that much, certainly not a wart or a sarcoid. Not sure if they might be some kind of insect bites but she only ever gets them under there. Anyway shes had them for years now and never got any worse??

Our youngsters sarcoid started rather like that, his is a flat one, looked like a bite last summer but is now about 1cm across with a slightly raised scab. I would get the vet to check it out.

My chap has similar marks on him - about 6 in total but we are pretty sure they are horse fly bites

Ive just been putting aloe vera gel on them and they seems to be clearing up ok. If they werent Id get the vet.

Hope that helps
