We Wud like to thank evryone so much for the help in finding princess - the story behind princess it that we got her as a rescue pony apx 18months ago as she was found running round for 3 weeks in a local village, when we took her in she was kept in a feild in that village for 3/4 month incase someone was looking for her, in the mean time we rang the police sevral times to report her found also the rspca, defra and other organisations and also scuored the net to find her owners,9month later no one had come forwad and the rspca and police said we could keep her, in october last year we moved her to durham were she was taken from her feild last suday nite.
Today i got a fone call from someone in bishop aukland apx 20mile up the road to say they were the original owners of the pony and that they had her and had 'found' her loose and took her home,
Theve told me i can buy the pony back for £1000 or have her on loan. Unfortanatly i dont have that money spare and am weary of haveing a horse on loan now in case it gets stolen.
Her oringnal owners did have prof that she belongd to them and as dealers they are inteading to sell her.
i do not dispute the fact that princess belongs with her riteful owners and we didnt even get a thank you for looking after her for all this time. Unfortanatly these are the type ov people that YOU DO NOT MESS WITH. Hartbrakeingly i said good bye to her today and hope she has a good life with her new owners x

surely she is rightful owner as shes had horse some time??

And in English?!

Very weird that the dealers should offer her on loan though! Why steal her back (i dont believe they found her loose) then offer on loan. All sounds a bit weird to me. Dont know where the pony was originally found but i reckon the 'proof' of ownership was probably fake.

that's what i thought i pt up why not get donations of £1 per person group has over 1000 members and she said there was no point as once shy??surely if horse was abandoned and rspca said she could keep it shes had it over a year shes legally owner?

The trouble with paying these people would be that it would encourage them to do it again and again

On this basis, I think lady has every right to keep horse and would therefore seek legal advice IMO

legally ( I have been through this with the RSPCA) an horse that has been abandoned - will then pass ownership to that of the landowner (if I remember rightly after 14 days ) but there has to be signs put up/legal notification that the landowners will assume ownership. This is applicable in England.
