Just been on a saddle hunt at my local tack shop and have come home with 6 different ones to try including my holy grail, an Albion SLK dressage high withered medium fit in 18" within my price range!! There was an odd looking Thorowgood that I picked up for my OH to try as it's only £120 and in good nick, it's one of the modern Thorowgood saddles with their newish oval saddle nail and movable leather girth straps but it's synthetic AND leather!!

I've not seen one like it before and it's not on the Thorowgood website either. It has a leather seat, knee rolls and panels but the flaps are the normal thick vinyl that Thorowgood uses. It has changeable gullet AND FISH too which I like as I find the FISH fill in the void at my TB's withers.

Does any one know what model it is as I've not seen one like it before? It's the hi-withered model with the cutback head and gusseted TB panels and in GPD as the flaps aren't as forward as the GP model. Did Thorowgood do a leather and vinyl version or did they do custom ones?

Hmmm if its new then its the T* and on the upper is leather the under is synthetic.

TG DID have a leather range the L range at one point but that didnt last long and preceded Kent and Masters I think but feel free to correct me if Im wrong :)

Just looked at the T8 closely and it is vinyl and leather on the seat, knee rolls and panels, D'oh! I thought the T8 was all leather. The photos of the ones on the website have FISH slots too so I guess I have a T8 at a bargain price then! :D

I don't see the GPD model listed though and this one def is as the flaps are more restrained.
