As the title says, what time does your yard open and close to livery customers? Do the times vary in winter and summer? Thankies in advance!

Ours opens about 6am but earlier if needed for shows etc and then we are all out by 8pm

wish in the summer they stayed open later but they dont.

Of course you can visit whenever you want but our yard says open at 8am close at 8pm. Obviously if there is an emergency or clients are out competing these times vary!

I have no set times as at a private yard. My old yard used to lock the main gate and we used to have to park on the other side - think that was 8pm in summer and 7 in winter, it opened at 6 in the mornings.

No closed times, if late or early, we lock / unlock main gates.
Certainly could not finish by 7 in winter, or 8 in summer aften at work till well past 6 pm.

All covered by cctv, so YO can see who is coming and going any time from the house.

On my old yard it was 7.30am - 9pm which I found a bit of a nightmare, as I worked 40mins away and started at 8.30!

On the new yard I can get there whatever time I like and stay til whenever which is good. I wouldn't turn up in the middle of the night or anything without telling YO first though!

This is a new one on me. Yard is open all the time (within reason) to liveries. YO is usually on the yard by 6.30/7am & doesn't finish most nights until 8pm so is always around somewhere.

It's a riding school too though so that may explain the relaxed policy?

No set opening and closing times, although the tack room is locked between about 10pm and 9am so if you want to ride early in the morning you have to remember to take your tack home the night before

Previous yard I was at was open 7:30am - 9pm (same yard as jumpthemoon) which was a bit of a pain as I could have done with getting down there a lot earlier in the mornings.

Opens 9am every day, closes 9pm weekdays and 5pm weekends.

Earlier and later for those at shows.

Suits me as self-employed so I can work around those times (although summer weekend eves are a bit frustrating) but I couldn't be DIY if I worked regular times.

Supposed to be 7am to 8pm, but i'm there at all sorts of times so i don't think it is strictly adhered to by anyone..YO doesn't seem to mind either.

Same sort of system as ours then.

No set times for our yard.

Yard owner opens yard when he gets up - between 5am and 6am (will sometimes be 7am at weekends).
He closes the yard gates when he does his final walk around at about 11pm/midnight.

This is the same all year round. We do have business units (eg music studio, gym, dog training) on our yard as well so he couldn't shut too early.

9am?????
Assume YO or staff do early morning feed and check for all?

That would be no good to me then, as I do my horse at around 5.45 in the mornings, and didn't leave until gone 8.00 last night after exercising.

Our's doesn't have opening or closing times. A couple of people there work shifts, so they have to be up very early or very late.

I would never keep a horse on a yard that had opening and closing times - it would annoy me so much!

All DIY'ers at our yard have keys or combination numbers to the main gates so can come and go whenever. Think we're meant to be off the yard by 8.30pm but never tested this theory! If we do come before 7.30am horses aren't fed but we can fed just our own or all, up to us.

What strange open hours couldnt cope with closing at 5pm weekends most days i dont go to the yard until after that.
At my yard i can go up whenever i want there are no set hours very flexible i wouldnt want it anyother way

Blimey I couldn't cope with most of these yards and their opening times! My horse, I'll see her when its suits me! But then I've always been on DIY yards, current one doesn't have anyone on site anyway, so we can come and go as we please, all liveries have the combination of the gates and last one on the yard locks up each time.

We have people who are up at 5am before work and I often don't leave the yard till 9.30/10pm in the summer when riding. Plus we often use it as a place to meet and leave cars when going for days out together like Badminton, so can often get back late night to collect cars again. YO is really flexible and doesn't mind (mainly as she doesn't live there).

I was on a yard which shut at 8.45pm every night and that was a nightmare for me for riding in the evenings and mucking out etc as I rarely get to the yard before 6pm at night.

We can access ours anytime and I am on a large livery yard. First person there opens gates, last person to leave chains them shut.

YO lives on site and house right next to the gate so they are checked later on to make sure they have been shut.

No set times really - YO usually gets there at about 7 a.m. in the morning and leaves about 6:00 but we all have keys so can get access whenever we like really.
