Helloo,

Just a random post, but what time do you all go and see/do your horses on the days that you work? Do you get up at silly o'clock to do them or are your working hours quite resonable to work around? My shifts are changing next week I'm so happy as it means more time with the horses. Well that's when I do eventually get a new one!

:)

I start work at 7am ! Work is 20 minutes from my house and my pony is a mile off the way to work. My alarm goes of at 5am ! I don't normally roll out of bed until at least 5.15am ! I leave home by 5.45am, and sort pony out and have to leave the yard by 6.20am to arrive for work on time.

I also sort pony on the way home from work so get there about 3.30pm and aim to ride and sort out and leave by 5.30pm/6.00pm.

No idea what will happen in the winter as I've never done him completely on my own before but I'm sure Ill manage.

I work with horses, so mine are all lumped in with my standard routine! I have always made sure everything is mucked out, hayed, watered and yard swept by half 9 at the latest, starting at 7 usually, with 16 to do at the moment. When I was doing 22 by myself I was starting at 6ish. I leave all boxes ready to be walked in to, so beds down, feed in etc. and bring in as late as possible. 8pm in winter, 10pm in summer for any that need to be in.

If anything is on box rest or in during the day, they get skipped out at 11am, 2pm and then mucked out when I do evening stables.

I am out of work at the mo so I do Teddy at my leisure...just off to do him now...and in the evening around 5-6pm....he is on boxrest...x

Well during the summer at night befroe I turn him out. He gets bitten to death with flies so I tend to keep him in during the day and out at night. So he gets mucked out once I turn him out. The winter is awful as I am rubbish at getting up I have alarm clocks everywhere. Normally 6am so I can shower and make up before heading to work/uni and then once I get home from work 6pm.

Hi My YO checks all the horses in the morning. During the week I tend to go down at 6.30 and muck out/groom. At weekends I tend to go down either first thing in the morning or late afternoon.

Sometimes if I have something on at work I will muck out quickly in the morning but the horses dont go out till 7.10 and I need to leave for work at 7.30 so can be a nightmare.

I am a teacher so holidays are ace can see them for a few times

I work part time, 6.30am-8.30am. Horses live out so I pop in to see them after work at about 9am. I'm at uni so if I have morning lectures the lady I share the field with will do them in the mornings, otherwise she'll do them in the evening.

I leave for work at 7am, so in summer when he is out I get up at 5.30 go out and poo pick, fly rug on, mask etc, feed. I ride out in the morn sometimes aswell so will be on board by 5am on these days. Finish work and poo pick again. If I havn't ridden in morn I will school in the eve. In winter up at 5am to muck out, rug and turnout. Nip home at lunch to bring in then after work muck/skip out again and ride!!

I work on a full livery yard, so my girls work round me! They are out at night during the summer months, so Dad/OH checks them in the morning when they look the sheep etc, I get up there 11.30 ish (depending on work) and fetch them in, then they go back out about 6pm. In the winter Im up about 5.30/6am to rug and turnout before going to work, then they stay out either till about 4/5pm or if its vile they come back in after Ive finished work. Im lucky in that my little one is a broodie, and my biggie is off work at the moment, so I havent got to try fitting exercise into the day!

My OH does morning shift so i'm quite lucky there, in summer while they are out 24/7 he poo picks in morning, feeds and hays etc, then in evening after work we go up about 6 and spend 2-3 hours there, exercising, feeding, poo picking again etc.

In winter, he still does morning feed, rugging, turnout etc, then mucks out and gets stables ready for them to go back into - I then pop up about 4 on way hope from work and chuck them in. We then go back up about 6 to "finish" them off, skip out, fill haynets, water and feed them for the night.

I work 9-5 (in theory) and have an hour commute. Thankfully my horse lives out. I pop up on my way to work at around 7.30 to do fly mask, say hello, check she's still standing etc! If I'm not riding that evening I'll do the same on my way home - 6 - 6.30ish. Otherwise I'll go straight home and go up at 7ish to ride.

I've only been loaning her since March - for the first month I was able to do mornings, but someone else was checking her in the evenings as it was dark by the time I got home. I think the same thing will be happening this winter. Dreading it, as will only be able to ride on weekends.

From November, when the horses come in at night, I am at the yard by 6.45, muck out, feed and turn out. Back after school at about 5pm to fetch in, feed and give a stroke.

Until they come in though it's riding after school. (I'm a teacher :D)

I only work 10 minutes away from the yard, so I get up at about 6.45am, go and muck out, turn out etc before work. I leave the yard at 8.50 :) Then I go home after work and pick up the dog - am normally at the yard by about 6pm. In the winter I try and ride in the mornings because the lights for the manege aren't brilliant. If I'm riding I get up at about 5.45am and try to be on board by around 7-7.15am.

It sounds like I've got it pretty easy compared to some of you!
