I've never done a 'how much' before, as i usually know the value of horses etc..
but i'm having abit of a yard clear out..
I've writen up a huge long list of stuff i want to sell, and it's gone out with the latest RC news letter..
Someone is interested in some turn-out rugs.. and they are the only bits i'm not sure what to ask???
They are used but in good condition, and they have been repaired.. but as said, still in good working order..
two are full, up the neck rugs, and one is a wug 'style' rug...

I would consider the new price of the make, how old yours are and how used they are and come up with a price from that. Personally I wouldn't want a 2nd hand rug that has been washed as I think it can sometimes affect the waterproofing of them.
I bought a Mark Todd heavy weight complete with neck cover for £60 couple of years ago, only used one winter, and sold a Rambo Wug after 1 winter for £60.

I would say a maximum of 50% of the cost of a comparable new rug depending on amount of wear/mending/etc. However, I would also say, please sell them clean, i.e. after professional washing and (where necessary) re -proofing. Call me fussy if you like, but I personally wouldn't buy a "dirty" rug. Whenever I sell anything I ensure it is thoroughly washed and clean and it really annoys me when people don't make a similar effort. I saw an ad yesterday for a headcollar and it actually says that it needs washing! So wash it!!

I can't actually find the price of the rugs new.. (and can't remember what i paid for them)..

I was thinking about £15 for the wug style one..
The other one is a Masta Flexi neck.. and a Weatherbeeta full neck jobby.. these are the two i'm not sure about.
I've never washed them, as the poster above says, i don't think they are ever the same after being washed.. however they are in good condition, and when i say 'clean' i mean they don't have hair stuck to the inside of them, or sh!t to the outside.. just a bit faded from mud...

I tried to sell a masta lightweight that had been used about three times and ended up giving it away! There are lots of cheap rugs on the market now so people just buy them instead of second hand, it seems.
