What to disinfect my clippers with?

It would seem that one of my horses has ringworm and I want to clip him so that I can see where he is affected so I can treat him easier. I know that Ring worm can be transfered to other horses and I can catch it therefor I was wondering if any of you know what I could disinfect my clippers with after I clip him, so that the other horses won't get it.

The main thing is to clean thoroughly, including brushes , obviously don't clip an infected horse of you can help it, I would think that the infected area would be sensitive, but by the time the disease shows symptoms it is too late anyway. Personally I would leave well alone, treat and wait for disease to die out, then wash all rugs and buy a new ones if possible.
Make sure you keep all tack brushes etcetera in a separate container, use latex gloves and keep an overall for the infected horse.

A solution of Benzalkonium Chloride will kill ring worm and many fungal issues for that matter. It is present in some products your vet will supply but for most cost effective use you would be better off buying a strong Quatinary disenfectant. This will also in time rid stables of the same problem.

It has a wide variety of uses in and around stable/livery yards including reducing black mould and slime build up on concrete surfaces.

I know all this as we are in the process of launching a new brand that will manufacture products for these applications. I hope this helps
 
i would wash the horse in imaverol to treat the ringworm. wait a week, wash again in imaverol, wait a couple of days then clip him! then change the blades (wipe them with virkon e) oil them and send them for sharpeneing. fungals struggle to cling to metal.
