At the moment we have all the horses in together, there is my shetland gelding ( not out all the time due to weight! ) my yearling filly, my mare and a friends T.B. gelding. They all get on O.K but my mare and friends T.B are VERY close. Problem is by next weekend another friends new mare is coming down and friend with T.B is getting a new BIG gelding. We have to split them up into two fields but who should go where? Field is divided by double electric fencing.
Shetland can go anywhere
Filly - Dont want her getting injured
Mare - VERY bossy and likely to try and kill anything new unless introduced VERY slowly ( took months to introduce to foal and friends T.B )
Friends T.B - Now very protective over mare, can also be a little bossy.
So dont know if splitting mares and geldings would be best, but worried mare and T.B will get very upset not being in together, or putting new ones in together although thats putting a new mare and gelding together, not sure if thats a good idea?
Or, well any other ideas? I hate introducing new horses!
Hope this waffling makes sense!!!!!!!
