I bought my TB mare 2 months ago and I have now bought her up to a fitness level where she is doing 1hr each day, inc. road work, hill work and schooling in walk trot and canter. We did a local SJ comp. yesterday and she went clear and didn't seem at all tired afterwards.

I'd like to get her fitness to the next level now so she is ready for some ODEs. I've got two lined up for her over the next month. We'll start of competing in small classes (2ft3/2ft6 ish) but I'd like her to be jumping 3ft3 plus when she is up to fitness.

Any tips of how to get her competition fit?

Thanks.

You need to be doing interval training in a field, and build up gradually to longer and longer stretches of canter. Have you got somewhere dry enough that you could use?
