Currently helping sell/ loan out the two horses i have shared for the last 18 months and have been thinking about what to do next. As a student money is tight so i can only really either have a share or a lesson. I was wondering what peoples thoughts would be, if they saw an advert looking for a horse i could borrow once or twice a week to have lessons on. I would happily muck out, groom, clean tack etc in return but i can only find adds for people wanting a paying sharer. So do people think its an avenue worth pursuing and if yes where would you recommend i post adverts.

Perhaps part loan/share the same horse/s if going locally.

Otherwise find your local facebook equestrian page.

NFED is good for 'Wanted - horse to share' or to find horses up for share.

I couldn't afford lessons when at uni so I used to volunteer with the local RDA group.
This got me my weekly exposure to horses but also meant that I got a few offers of horses to ride occasionally and the stables learnt that my flexible timetable meant I could help out on occasion too.
Depending on how skilled/experienced you are then you may find someone who is happy for you to do this for no money although they are unlikely to be the bombproof happy hacker types. Definitely put an 'available' advert up, you've nothing to lose.

Thanks for advice, i cant do local rda as it does not work with my uni timetable. Not after happy hacker want to improve my riding in dressage area as having solved issues of current two horses i have happily been hacking around for a year and a half and feel my position etc needs work.
