When I bought my 17hh mare two years ago I was told that she would not load in a trailer "for love nor money" love, no. Money, no. Food, yes!
I have done everything on my own so far it has taken me about a month of regular loading and being very patient with her and can now load her and she stands in there to eat her tea, but once she has finished her tea she will back out straight away.
What I want to ask is what is the next step, how do I get her to want to stay in without food?
I was thinking about asking someone at the yard to help and put the back bar up whilst she's eating I'm just worried that she will try to back out and freak and get in a panic about being shut in. Having nightmares about it haha.

I have already come such a long way with her with this and don't want to rush her but there is a fun ride on the 1st sept that I would love to take her on!

Any advice would be fab thank you :) xx

Open the front of the trailer so she can start going out that way when she has finished eating. When she's happy with that you can start putting the back bar up.
