I have had my mare tb for 2years, she came to me with a week old foal at foot. She was a great mum!
I kept the baby and she is lovely no problems with her.
Obviously mare wasn't in work and was a 5 year old who previously raced and then did a season of cross country and then had baby.
When i got her she was in a poorish state, shes now looking so much better and has grown up quite a bit. She has the sweetest nature ever and is one of the nicest horses i have had to handle on the ground.
Start of winter 2009 after having back, saddle, teeth etc. checked i started to bring her back into work after 2 years off. She coped really well with it, now she is getting fitter she is getting alot more lively which is fine i am used to that type of horse, she has always been quite spooky but this is getting worse. She also is very mareish, not moody but if theres a gelding she will do anything and i mean anything to go and see it!
She also has a habbit of broncking when shes unsettled, she will go from walking down a lane relaxed on a loose rein to a 30second broncking fit then back to walking nicely.
Now i have not had very good luck with horses and never quite got the right one (if there is such a thing!) but i recentley gave up working with horses for an office job because i felt the pleasure was being taken out of riding and i don't want to loose it completely.
Its now my hobby but im not enjoying it as much, i dont want to sell her because she is such a sweet horse just needs time and effort but i am sick of putting all this in.
Not sure if this is going anywhere suppose i just wanted to get it off my chest and to see if anyone had any suggestions
Maybe loaning, but i would have to 100% trust the person and they would have to be very capable of her, maybe a broodmare? she producedlovely foal and was a fab mother!
sorry for the ramble x
