Question as in title! Have used linseed lots before, but never used the pellets. Someone told me they don't have to be cooked, but obviously i don't want to risk this without knowing it is correct. I thought I'd ask on here before, then ring the feed company tomorrow.

As in lozenges? Or is this something else? Lozenges don't need to be cooked.

If lozenges chuck 'em in the bin and buy the micronised stuff! Lozenges are made from whats left over after the oil has been extracted so are pretty low in oil (about 7.5 % vs 35 % for micronised). They are apparently bound with molasses too :(

cheers, they are little brown pellets, bout 4/5mm wide and 1/2 centimeter long. Complete mistake getting them as i like proper linseed! Just seems a bit weird to have pellets made of the left overs and God knows what else as the reason i feed straights is i like knowing whats in their feed! Bin it sounds like then.
