what to do with my baby?

have had my little sect a filly (14 months) for a week now. she was halter trained and picks all her feet up. so, as this is my first baby, what should i be doing with her? do i leave her for a year or so and just groom her every day? also she cant go out in traffic without a bridle on can she? obviously shes far too young for a bit so is it a filly bridle i need? sorry for all the questions but im sure i will have many more! thankyou x

You can do "police horse" training with her - get her used to things like bin bags, walking over sheets of plastic etc., take her for walks in hand so she can see a bit of the world ( you should really use a bridle and bit but a lunge cavesson gives almost as much control), in-hand shows, being bathed, boots and/or bandages . . . .

thankyou for that reply, ive got plenty to go at then! cant wait x i bought her because i saw her and it was love at first sight! we have another filly on our yard who is 3 now and her owner has had so much fun with her, so thought id give it a go! ive plenty of time and patience on my hands x
