In a field near my work there are 2 ponies. I am pretty sure people come up to water them and things as rugs come on and off every so often..
But since being rotated to a patch near the road I can see that one of them is very thin, I can see its ribs easily when driving past.
There are some buckets which have been lying in the same place for a while so I guess they are being fed something.
I know theres nothing I can do really and I dont want to interfere so I suppose I just keep an eye out when I come to work and see if anything changes???

mmm sounds a bit bad

but what can you do? its hard to know what to do for the best...keep an eye out and see how things go
also, just a thought, maybe ask Nicki in TomW, as she keeps her horse near there and she might know the owners....

yeah def, might be worth an ask, to put your mind at rest...or not...but atleast you might get some answers

I reported a horse to the RSPCA after watching it stand in a ragwort infested almost bare field, alone and unable to move much i.e very lame and underweight!

Thay called me back and said that they had visited the owner and she told them that it was very old and had severe arthritis but "she didnt have the heart to have it PTS"??? So there was nothing they could do???WTF!

Anyway sorry that was a bit out of context with the post but shows that there could be some genuine(unlike the horse just mentioned) reason that the horse is not looking at its best.
