Basically my old manis kept at a livery yard where the YO has basically lost her marbles so everybody is leaving. He is 26 been there for about 12/13 years and for last 2 years been retired through artritis with his best friend in a field being majorly pampered!! My problem is he is a happy horse who enjoys going out (and coming in!) still attempts to run around but due to his arthritis soon regrets it, he is on pain relief daily (his arthritis is stable now). The moment he needed an increased dose or showed increased pain/difficulty doing anything he would be PTS.
However I dont know if its fair to stress him by moving him to a new yard where its going to be busier and less peaceful or to have him to PTS now while he is in a happy place and feels safe?
Any opinions would be appreciated (im sure many of you will think he should have been pts originally rather than being put on pain relief so please dont say that it wont help me now!)
