Hi everyone!

Ive been riding for approx 4yrs now, and since being on a hunting / p2p / livery yard ive been persuaded to give XC etc more of a try. Was a nervous rider, but now with much help and encouragement im getting there!

So............. ive been roped into a small taster evening trail hunt!!!

Horse hasnt hunted before, but is a clean jumper, very good on pleasure rides, hunter trails etc. and fairly level headed so ive been encouraged to give it a go (will be doing the more 'sedate route'!).

Apparently the Master will be taking us out - so what should i expect??

What should i wear?

Hi,
Assuming it is before the opening meet, you should wear Tweed with either a shirt & tie or a coloured/patterned stock. Beige jods and either black or brown long boots or joddy boots with matching colour half chaps. Normal whip is fine.
Horse- plain tack and numnahs/boots and make sure you have enough brakes!

Have fun and listen to the Master- they normally tell you what they are doing/what to expect :) i heard someone say to imagine if a big group of you did a sponsored ride together without knowing the route in advance so you had to follow the person in front-not a bad description as its very similar to that :)

As long as you dont overtake the Master, kick a hound or trample on a crop then you will be fine- have fun :)
