Basically, i have a lovely TB on loan. I have had him for around 4 months. He was unfit and thin when he came, he is fit and healthy!

When i first got him he was very quite and simple to ride, now he is fit he is becoming more of a handful. I am not the most confindent of riders, and have only ever really hacked out. I do the occasion half hour in the school and again.

He started backing up and spinning when out hacking - at nothing obvious. First time was on a very steap hill, i asked for walk, a van came past and he spun round, tried to go down hill then started backing up into van. I was riding with someone else who was in front. I jumped off as the hill was so steep and i didnt want him to back up into van. I got staight back on and he was fine after.

A couple more times when i have asked him to stand or walk he backs up. I have not really been ready for this but am now.

Other than this he is good in every other respect.

His real mum came to ride him a couple of weeks ago and took him to a open space where he has been before, she asked for canter and he had other ideas and started rodeo'in around! I have only found this out and feel abit weird about it.

I do not want this to happen to me as it would knock my confindence. He does occasionally buck when excited but nothing like this. Should i be worried that he will do this with me?

I when for a hack and found myself being nervous beacuse of what i he did with his owner.

dont really know what i am thinking, just would liek your thoughs on if you think he is likely to do this with me. His owner says there was nothing that scared him, he jsut was playing up.
???

I know this doesn't apply to your experience hacking out, but rather to when his mum rode him. However, now that he is in better condition and more muscled up, have you checked that his saddle fits properly? Could it be pinching him now that he's filled out? Sorry if this is a stupid question.
