Any suggestions welcome. Rather skinny mare is currently on 3 feeds a day, consisting of approx 0.75kg Baileys Conditioning cubes, 0.25-0.5kg Fibrebeet, handful of linseed and handful of graze on.

The linseed is only in there as I have some to use up; once it's gone, I wont be getting any more. Once she has put on required condition, I will be looking to move the feed down to something with slightly less calories in it.

The Baileys cubes have a DE of 13.5 MJ/kg, I am estimating she will need something approx 11.5 MJ/kg - anything less and I suspect she will drop off weight. I have contacted Baileys to see what they say, but just waiting a response.

Any suggestions on here would be much appreciated, so far I have come up with Baileys Light Racehorse Mix, Spillers Slow Response Energy Cubes and British Horse Feeds Horse and Pony Cubes.

I'd go with fibre nuts or unmollassed sugar beet and chaff and add oil for cals - my choice would be microionized linseed, brilliant stuff!

I wouldnt do anything at the moment, their coats are changing, and its getting colder so wait a bit because she may still need the energy.
