what to feed sec b foal???

As title really he was bought from sales at beginning of month and think he had just been weaned that day have been feeding him cavalor start and go with some equilibrium growth since i got him 2 feeds a day. Hes out in the field about 8 hours every day with rug on.His coat is very dull now though and he doesnt seem as lively as when i first got him so just wondered what i was doing wrong he is stabled at night with ad lib hay,i have fed the cavalor stuff before to a sec d i had and it was great for him,just been reading about top spec results on here and wondered if thats the one to feed as i want to show him.All ideas suggestions gratefully received:)

a good youngstock mix (we use D&H), and balancer, also sugarbeet with chaff. Keep it simple and just try to ensure he gets all the nutrients he needs, also you could stick some oil in for his coat.

Also he may be better suited to 3 small feeds a day, to let him reap the full benefits of everything you're feeding.

I would go with D&H suregrow which is basically a balancer - means you don't have to wallop huge amounts of feed into small ponios. You acn add it to chaff / beet as required. His coat might be a bit dull cos he's about to get his winter one and also through the stress of the sales / moving / weaning etc. It's a lot to happen to them at once.
