Our fat little fell felt the same, so we put it down to a lack of vitamins/minerals and put her on a broad spectrum vit and min supplement which made a lot of difference.

We used topspec comprehensive balancer, but only because other horse was already on it. I think any one would do the trick.

at the moment she is on a handful of fibre cubes and handful of chaff, out 24/7 with slice of hay soaked when she comes in.she puts weight on very easily and is carrying a little more weight than i would like

Well if she is only receiving a handful of fibre cubes, she won't be getting her full RDA of vit/mins from that, as that will only occur when fed the manufacturers recommended amount. I would echo the poster above and suggest you start by feeding a broad spectrum vit/min supplement (Equivite, TopSpec Comprehensive, etc) or a balancer like Bailey's Lo Cal, to ensure she gets all her vit/mins without feeding lots of calories.

thank you my feed merchant has suggested baileys lo-cal,the reason she is on such small amounts of feed is that she really is a very good doer gets fat on fresh air.
