What to feed?

I have a 5yo IDxTB 17hh hes out all days - comes in at night - doing light hacking and ridden daily for half hour or more but its light work. Currently feeding him handful of pony nuts, couple of scoops of chop and carrotts, is this suficient? he also has a big haynet when he comes in.

Also do you think he should have hay or haylage? Currently having hay.

If he's maintaining his weight then his feeds are fine.

With regard to the hay, it depends entirely on how much a 'big' haynet weighs - if he still has a small amount of hay left in the morning then the amount is fine, if not then increase the amount he gets until you get to that point

hey i wasnt too sure on what i should be feeding one of mine so i emailed a nutritionist from spillers last week and i got a reply today and it sounds really good she told me exactly how much what to feed so im going to give it a go see if it improves her condition so you could try that if your stuck

yes this is fine as long has his weight is fine and enough engery to do his job!
