Hi,
So basically I’m bringing my tb mare back into full ridden work, she’s got great weight coming out of the winter and she’s in every 2nd night so mainly out grazing.
I’m looking to change her feed to help her gain muscle and help her with the work load.. although don’t want something that will send her loopy But I’ve no idea where to begin as what she is being fed the now isn’t the best.
any recommended combination would be great. Thanks

Muscle comes from correct work so if she is in good condition I would either keep her on what she is on, unless it is really rubbish and you want to change anyway, or put her on a good vit/ min supplement, mine are on Equimins, with a small amount of grassnuts and some micronised linseed to cover most angles with low risk of silly behaviour, it is what mine get in various quantities depending on how they are doing, at the moment they are on a tiny amount just to get the supplement down them.

Very similar to BP. Mine get pink mash, grass nuts and Equimins. The pink mash has a linseed or I'd add that. I also add extra vitamin e as mine are on restricted grazing and a mainly hay diet

Right now she is on safe&sound, linseed, conditioning mix and speedi beat.. a couple of people have told me it isn’t a very good balanced diet but it’s what she was fed when I first got her and I never changed it.. just wanted to change and get something that will benefit her more.
