What to put in treat ball

......... that lasts!! The boys love their treat balls which I currently put cheap pony nuts in. Problem is they have both worked out that if they just nudge it from side to side the nuts flow out!! I have also put bits of carrot in or their treats buy they finish the balls too quickly. What can I put in that's a bit harder for them to get out?

Eta I could change their feed from the mash they have now to something that could go in the ball, but I have no idea what to!!

I wish mine would nudge it from side to side. He stamps on it and kicks it furiously into the wooden stable wall. What a racket. I feel bad at everyone having to listen to him so he doesn't get the ball more than a couple of times a week. All the other horses play nice with theirs.

You could block some of the holes up and it wouldn't empty quite as quickly.
 
I put cheap mix in mine, while it comes out nearly as quickly it takes a lot more picking up off the floor. Also if you put less in the balls it comes out more slowly, mine gets two balls which are less than half filled and it takes much longer than one nearly full one.
