What to rugs do I need?

Moving my wimpy TB to a field, he will eventually have a stable but for 2 weeks he's going to be out 24/7.

At the moment he has 1 heavy weight turnout with a neck, but it makes him sweat like mad, 1 medium weight, 2 lightweights (both need new fillet strings attaching to them).

He also has a collection of stable rugs etc, but turnout-rug-wise, should I get him another, and if so what weight?

If it's not cold enough for the HW - then put the MW on, with neck cover.

If he is sweating in the heavy weight then put either put the MW on or get a lightweight with a little fill say 100g with the neck. Personally I would prob have him in a 200g MW one with neck for now with the option to pop either the HW on instead or the LW on ontop if temp drops further. Depends when you had the HW on as well to judge as this week is obviously much colder than it was last week. Also I'd consider how waterproof your rugs are as if he has no shelter and its pouring with rain all day/night your rugs can easily get sodden right through and you need spares to change them into.
