Taking Gyp to dressage tomorrow. We have the wonderful time of 8.30am the first horse in. Which means we will have to leave the yard at about 7am. It is going to be -6 tonight so I doubt it will be much warmer at 7.
I usually travel him in just his waffle weave cooler. I do have a light fleece I can put on top or a light stable rug.
I don't want him to get cold but I don't want him to sweat.
He is a cob, with a week old blanket clip and he will be in a trailer. He travels very well.

i personally would put the fleece on top as A)although it will be cold his body heat will be contained within the trailer B)stable rugs arent breathable, you can always take the stable rug and put it over him once your there
Best of luck x
