what to use??

Hi I've recently wormed with pramox but think my pony may have pin worms. Can i re treat so soon and if so with what?? Thank you x

For pinworms my pony had a double dose of Strongid P and Panacur 5 day. These were a month apart

I guess in your case the Pramox would do the same as the Panacur i used so perhaps try the Strongid P?

I did get vets advice first though So maybe check that and the wait between wormers with them or your local shop's qualified person

You could ask Borderriever on here - she runs Westgate labs who do the egg counts and give advice on worming

I used panacur five day and it did the trick. Also clean the anus area twice a day with a wet wipe and smother in Vaseline, it stops the worm from being able to lay the eggs outside of the bottom.

You can also smear a bit of the wormer around the anus.

Thanks for all your replies, after speaking to the vet they have suggested a ivermectin only wormer and mentioned to me that pin worms are on the rise due to many of us doing worm counts (these don't detect pin worm) and only worming twice a year with dual wormers which dont deal with pin worms.....interesting !!
