Hi,

I am just wondering what is to be worn for a dressage test?

The last time I did it, I just wore my hacking jacket, shirt, tie, cream jods and black boots but my friend just recently just wore a stock shirt and stock.

Bearing in mind that I will only be doing a walk and trot test but I like to make the effort. :D :p

Hiya!

I'm about to do my first dressage test (eep!) and I'm wearing much the same as you did - beige jodhs, hacking jacket, shirt and tie then jodh boots with same colour chaps (if I can get them clean enough!) and hopefully a big smile! My understanding is that at walk/trot level this is fine and although you can wear a blue/black jacket you don't have to. I found this site really helpful:

Good Luck!

Hi,

Good luck on your first dressage test :D

Thank you for that link, that clears alot of things up for me. Think I might have my test read out to me now.

I have done a couple of tests in my tweed before, never an issue. Me and the boy are starting back later this month, slightly apprehensive but excited at the same time :). OH bought me a blue jacket and matching hat for my birthday; he's a good egg, so I'll be wearing them with a stock.

Good luck to you both

Thank you for your help.

Well I have entered my walk and trot test for this sunday at 11am. EEK! Hopefully my "chestnut" mare will behave herself. :D

Better look out my hacking jacket :D

I think the tweed looks smart as well and if i knew how to upload a pic, i would upload me and my steed at my first dressage test about 6 weeks ago lol.

I love my tweed too. I have ambitions to move up the levels but I plan on wearing it for as long as possible!

Best of luck! Hope you have fun :)
