Firsty, my daughter, who is 12 years old and about to enter her very first show. Not sure what classes, but probably best turnout, best condition, best junior handler. What does she wear? Pony is chestnut with a flaxen mane. Brown tack. Can she wear brown boots? What boots? Long, short? Advice for complete numpty, please.

Also me, may take Archie and do an inhand coloured class, my very first show, ever. What do I wear? What does Archie wear? He is a 16.2 ID x Cob, longish mane but kept under control, lots of feathers but not mega mega hairy. Again, advice for a complete numpty, please.

Many thanks x

Child short boots. Brown is fine with a tweed jacket but black with navy. Light coloured joss.kiddy clips . Shirt and tie. Hair up in a net or if it's a show pony you can do the whole ribbon thing.

In hand - comfy running in type shoes. Trousers dark for light coloured legs and vice versa. Shirt tie tweed jacket and hat ( could be flat cap, bowler or riding hat)

Hth

Bnbx

Ps Archie where's a flat plain bridle preferably with a wide flat noseband and a snaffle bit with a lead rein( or his reins taken over his head )

Child, always short brown boots, or if on a large pony long leather black ones.
Pony should be turned out plaited and pulled/trimmed,unless M&M
Brown tack is correct, make sure its really clean for turnout class.
Dont forget hoof oil and a wipe round muzzle with some baby oil for a final touch.
Archie should be fine natural, again oil feet /muzzle and make sure he is really clean, chalk is useful for a last minute touch.
Show him in usual bridle.

Gloves for people :) If child is under 16 then better stick with short boots, no spurs. As daughter is going to have to wear a tie it is worth buying a boys shirt as they take ties better than girls ones (also a good tip for grown up girls too :) ) Cream, pale yellow shirts work best with tweed jackets. Good luck to all four of you.
