What to wear gold cup day?

I was wondering about a hat but gold cup isn't usually as dressy as ladies day so I'm not sure!

Technically Cheltenham doesn't have a dress code, so on gold cup day its really dependant upon a) what area your tickets are for b) the weather c) what your general preference is.

In previous years I've worn a skirt with a fitted jacket, long coat and boots. Or a shift dress sort of style. I've opted for tweed a couple of times also. This year I'm yet to decide! No need for a hat or fascinator on gold cup day unless you want to wear one.

I wouldn't wear a fascinator - that's more for flat racing IMO. I'm more of a boots, long skirt and long coat and furry hat for NH racing. Cheltenham can be freeeeeezing.

I've got a simple dress with boots and a smart coat! And my kauto star scarf arrived as a valentines present today! Lucky in the fact that we get VIP passes and can go everywear. Would just dress smart but not ott! Never see many ladies in hats on gold cup day! Its all about the horses ) go kauto
