Ok so I seem to be having a dumb blonde moment

I am going cubbing on the 21st and newcomers meeting on the 28th (fingerscrossed)

But have gone completely blank on what to wear

Somewhere in the depths of my memory it says you should wear tweed and either stock or shirt and tie

But does that come from riding too many Ridden Hunter classes

Then my friend says she was told tweed for cubbing and black jacket for hunting and something about a coloured stock

I think I have had way too many late nights too

right well if its cubbing then yes its tweed and a shirt and tie. if its hunting then its black jacket and white stock or blue jacket and cream stock. although if you go in tweed and a coloured stock you should get away with it.

Cubbing is tweed (ratcatcher) and a coloured stock, hutning NAVY jacket for ladies NEVER black (that one gets my goat) and a white stock!

Thats interesting, I believe you can wear either - ladies - but navy is more flattering!! Mine is navy, and have to admit, all the 'serious' hunting ladies wear navy. But then...we've got the collar for ladies too!

The East Essex ladies wear black, their coolar is red. Ours is blue birds eye, so better with navy. I'm sure black or navy is right, really. :)

i can add to this
Mainly farmer ladies wear black down our way and others ladies navy. But as pointed out to me, by a very old gentleman that we all should be were bowler hats anyway, as i was very prouding showing him my new Patey Hat. He very shortly said 'your not a master or servant !' which did make me chuckle
But going back to original posting
Defo - Tweed coat with coloured stock, cream jophurs, boots, spurs, stick and gloves and of course smartly turned out horse in plain tack with correct gagets in gob to stop  :grin:have a good day

We have ladies collars (Though I'm fairly sure you lot would guess the wrong hunt as there's some clashes between here and the UK!) - as with anything in hutning the navy/ladies thing is "tradition"

ETA: We have pale blue collars with one pack, buff with the other...buff is the one that usually raises some eyebrows from those "in the know"!

Lol...sorry, that's right...and infact I think we only have cream stocks apart from my brother's white one so I never give it a thought.
