Just had a try on and rummage for an outfit for me to take my cob inhand on saturday.
I have black cord trousers, navy blue velvet hat with a flesh harness, black jod boots, tweed coat with a navy velvet collar, a yellow tatterstall waistcoat which is yellow silk on the back, brown gloves (leather) choice of ties
yellow/navy tie,
plain pink tie,
purple striped tie and a
navy blue tie with white dots
plain black tie.
I need to buy a shirt online
Sooooo the question is what to wear!!?!
Cob is grey and white skewbald if that helps with a pink face :o and will be wearing a black hunter bridle with a gold chain and leather lead.

I think the waistcoat looks really smart as it fits so nicely, so long sleeve shirt or short sleeved?? yellow/navy tie or the plain black? what colour shirt??
waist coat is like this:

OR shall i stick to the jacket?? again what shirt color/tie?

I know its the horse getting judged but i want to make an effort to look smart, i like dressing for the part :D

If you are wearing the waistcoat (sounds nice!) then I would go for long sleeves as I think it looks smarter. I look awful in pale yellow shirts which seem to be popular for showing, so I go for pale blue (you can get school shirts for just a few £ which are fab). Then you could wear the blue/yellow tie, or go for one that would stand out a little more and go for one with red in (which again, seems popular). Can you rob one off your oh/dad. It's what I do as it's loads cheaper!!

Thats an idea will see if he has a smallish one lying around :D so you would say long sleeves with a pale colored shirt such as light blue? or what about cream?

I wonder if cream would just blend in a little too much with your gold waistcoat? Pale blue would link in well to your tie and hat too so that you are matching, but without fading into the background! I wouldn't worry about the size of the tie, it's only really the knot and a couple of inches that is seen so the rest can be hidden away!

Long sleeved with the waist coat, either cream or pale blue. Colourful tie.

I would look for some browny coloured trousers if you can?

I'd go for a pale blue shirt, long sleeved if you are wearing the waistcoat. I would only put your jacket on if it is cold. I'd also go for the navy tie with dots.

Pale blue long sleeved shirt, navy polka dot tie and the waistcoat it shall be then!! yes, i agree i should have gone for brown trousers but picked up a bargain pair of lovely black cords off ebay, will keep an eye out :)

Normally black (trousers) would not be seen in the show ring, brown or navy would be better.

I would wear a blue shirt as the cream wouldn't stand out against your waistcoat and also make the horse look dirty. I used to show in a blue waistcoat, blue shirt and pink tie with black trousers. Here's a pic

Also if i went with a cane what type would be best? i think someone is lending me one if they can find it so may have to buy one. I feel like she would def go better if i had something in my hand
Any links?

If its the first time showing her then I would go with a schooling whip so you can give her a flick if you need to. If not a leather covered show cane or a bamboo cane would be fine
