Hi all, i am thinking of going hunting for the first time and i have seen a gray/blue tweed jacket. I just wanted to ask if this would be an ok colour or would a brown one be better? Also what colour tie and jods look smart with this? It would be the hound exercising i would be going to. Just a little worried i will turn up and look out of place?
Thanks for any help

I used to wear a blue tweed for cubbing with a blue, polka dot stock, although I believe a collar and tie are more correct with tweed. Buff / beige jodhpurs / breeches are usually worn for hunting.

Hi Kerri, are you actually going cubbing or just to hound exercise?

Our hunt has no dress code for hound ex - people arrive in jods & a sweatshirt normally, but cubbing is a different matter. For cubbing it's normally ratcatcher with a coloured tie or stock.

The blue tweed you've seen would be fine with a coloured tie or stock and beige jods.

If you are going to hound exercise though I would check with your Secretary what the dress code is.

Have fun
