Hello all,

Next month I will be attending a show showing my piebald cob yearling and I have no idea what to wear! I am new to the showing world so what should I be dressed in and what should he have on (head collar/bridle wise)?

Many thanks!

Yearling as in born 2015?

He looks like he'll be a traditional so mane, tail and feathers stay on but a little bit of a tidy up. Train his mane over on to the 'correct' side so it lies tidy.

As he's young I wouldn't bit him (probably would next year though if you do more shows), I'd use a smart show slip or even a nice leather headcollar if it's a small show. Plain browband and wide noseband, no fancy stitching etc.

For you you need dark trousers as he has white legs, cords or smart trousers. Shirt, tie and a tweed jacket. Comfy smart shoes you can safely run in, brown gloves and a hat/cap that suits your outfit.
