I am thinking of applying for the vacancy for the saturday job at my local tackshop. I have never applied for a job before so I have no idea what to write on my cv. It also says I need to have equine knowledge but I am scared I don't have enough, I am 17 and been riding and caring for horses for 10 years but I'm still worried!

Just put in your equine skills. If you have any skills dealing with cash and customers add that. Emphasis how you are a quick learner and when you understand the job you will be able to get on without supervision. You are trust worthy. Dont be scared you cant change what will be, you will either get the job or you wont

How exciting! Perhaps state which riding school you have been/go to - do you do any pony club? do you compete?
List all these.
Also pop on a little about which GCSE's (assuming) you have done - at the end of the day, if the till's go down they need someone with some basic maths skills.

Good luck! Ditto what the others have suggested - they will probably be looking for someone who is friendly and approachable, has a bit of knowledge about the things you normally find in a tack shop and will be prepared to learn how to use the till.

Start with your personal details then list your education then any work experience you have had, list your hobbies and interests including your equine knowlege.

If your posting the CV you could do a letter just saying you are familiar with what is sold in a Tack shop, and maybe say how you would be good for the job and although never worked before you are confident young person very willing to learn that kind of thing
If you look on line some sites will show you how to do a proper CV, how to word it and lay it out Good Luck x

put in things on how your horse experience will help sell products...you have a good understanding of how they work, you know what they do etc...
you can also show you are reliable, dedicated, work well in a team etc by the fact you have care for/looked after horses

think about how the skills you have gain in your experience will go on and help you in a new job

Thank you for all your help everyone. Unforunately I haven't really done pony club properly (didn't have a horse when I joined so did my feeding and road safety badges) so I am not sure if I can put that in.
