Im going to buy a new trailer as Im having to sell my lovely lorry due to being 1 mile in LEZ, but do not know which one to choose any advice would be helpful

We got the wessex and had the same choice as you - it is a brilliant trailer!! One of our mares is a v sensitive girl and used to arrive bothered and sweated up when we travelled her in the ifor (we hired one to try before we made our decision), but in thw Wessex she is as happy and calm as you like. Love the padded partitions inside too! It gives a lovely comfy ride, is nice and bright so has never given us any loading problems, and is very stable and easy to pull loaded or unloaded. Would make the same choice again in a flash!

I too have the Wessex Olympian and my horses love it. Harvey is big and long (takes a 7'3 rug) but he has plenty if room. The padding makes it really comfy for them too. I love mine and chose it over the Ifor.

thank you, does the Wessex have sliding windows and does it come with ramp on kerb side? Good idea I think I will try and rent one of each before I buy

I bought Wessex Clubman (smaller model) five years ago after much research, when Ifor didn't make my shortlist. IMO, suspension and flooring much better than Ifor's and my ponies are always keen to load even if I think we've had a bumpy ride on pot-holed roads, so I guess they think it's ok too. Padded sides to partitions good for support and cushioning horses body. I'd definitely buy another if I needed to, although mine is still in good-as-new condition so no need to change.

Forgot to say, front ramp does open on kerbside which is more practical. Don't know if sliding windows or other options currently available as mine is standard model and five years old.

I think sliding windows are an option but mine doesn't have them. Mine is 5 years old too. Bought it off a lady who bought it new and she chose not to have them as she was paranoid about flies and wasps coming in!
Yes, has kerb side ramp.

We had an ifor williams 510 which we were never particulally happy with. build quality , the way the horses travelled etc. I went back to Ralph Bailey trailers who told me he wont stock many new ifors any more because he is really unhappy about the new 511 build qualities and the strength of them He has 1 in stock at the mo for 'just in case someone particulally wants one'. Aparently where Ifor had 3 support bars? over the frame they now only have 2 and in his opinion (and he has sold new trailers for over 25 yrs) they are not strong enough. On the strength of his advice we bought a wessex (3 horse because I love the space to tack up, get changed etc inside if wet). And it is wonderful. tows beautifully, and build quality is amazing. Very very different to an Ifor williams . In my opinion. :)

You can get sliding windows both sides as an optional extra (we did), I would imagine you could also fit one of those wheely tack things in, best to measure though to be sure if that is important to you. We don't bother with one though as we have two long girls so need the manouvering space when unloading!!

OK thank you:)

We brought an ifor 510 as were told to steer clear of the newer 511's as nt very well made. We love our 510 and 2 of our friends have them. My big boy has more room in it than our old 3 horse lorry and loves to travel in it.

Just to update brought a IFW Classic 510 in feb, I love it and more to the point Lochie does and travels well, especially loves the sliding windows :)
