What was your best achievement with your horse this year?

I have achieved a lot, but to some it may be not much!!!

Too much to post but my best one was definatly, having my first lesson on Hemir

Well its a ew, but all at one event!

*Best marathon of east anglia(beating horses, national competitiors an multiples)
*Pre-novice Est Anglian Champion
*Novice Junior champion

And with Ginga- Getting top 10 at the Indoor National Championships.

for me, its watching my bf get better and better with solo and red.
with solo- coming 3rd in an ex-racers class of 16.
with red- hunting for the first time in about 3 seasons!
i think my bfs best achievment is finally mastering rising trot and tacking up!

Sorting out Ambers problems and finishing the year with her back to the fun loving animal I had before all the problems. And ending the year in one piece after sisters broken leg and nearly a year of having to do most of the work by myself.

1st show having had him 3 weeks / jumping a clear round (felt like it took forever) / taking him to the show that prompted me to finally buy one of my own last year and competing / now all i need to do is get him safely past fresian cows that stick their heads over the hedge, all others seem ok for him haha x

Finally realising that it didn't matter that my mare hated dressage 'cos we'd both much rather showjump, taking her out for the first time in two years & being the fastest time of the class even tho we had the first fence down in the jump off. She was the horse everyone thought I should have given up on but she loaded, travelled, worked in then jumped perfectly & I owe the fact that I am now planning my new horses show jumping rather than dressage career to her.
I also think my biggest achievement, personally, was getting out & finding my new horse after said mare was PTS.

Three things really with Badger:

Firstly, we got round B&BH intermediate TC which was huge and a big muddy mess!! We came 5th!

He has been so consistent with his SJ - we've been to 5 BSJA shows and he's been 1st or 2nd in 4 of them!
smile.gif

We actually got decent marks in Dressage!!
grin.gif
It was BE, but I was very proud of a mark of 34!

We achieved everything we set out to do, except one! This year, with my grey I wanted to be doing BSJA Foxhunters by the end of the year - he started the level at the end of September
smile.gif
I had wanted to do a BE Intermediate or 2 day Novice with him but unfortunately my target changed because he got a scare after a dodgy jump over a trakhener in May so it rattled his confidence slightly so had to get that back which thankfully we did. So that's my aim for next year now!

With my Welsh, I wanted to do more ridden showing / WH with him but actually that didn't really happen because of BE clashes

But what he did go to, got him qualified for a few things so that was good. I also wanted him to improve SJ and lose the greeness which finally he has

Getting back into riding, and entering my first competition with the horse I'm loaning temporarily. Despite me being absolutely hopeless and just concentrating on steering, the lovely boy got me a score of 52.7% in my first unaff Prelim test.

Finding the horse I am hopefully going to buy - vetting tomorrow, so fingers crossed!

Well I got to jump at Hickstead for my RC team, in the big all weather arena and it was amazing. You just have to leave the bit out about the wagon stuck in the mud on a 30 degree tilt and the horse being lame the next day.

I was there that day!

And the mud was terrible!

Jumping at Hickstead is def. one of my highs this year. Also my riding test team being placed 3rd at the BRC National Championships in Lincoln and competing in my first elementary test.

At the start of the year following an unscheduled dismount out hacking and issues in the school with the now reformed Diva I really thought I wanted to sell her.

But...
In March I did my first walk and trot test on her, with lots of help from OH and gallons of every herbal calmer on the planet for me I made my BD debut in May and won my first prelim, from then on I never looked back, I qualifed for the regionals but took her to Ardingly for the Petplan Area and finished 5th.

By September I was doing Novices and have even been jumping her. I honestly can't believe how far I have come and I am so glad OH persuaded me not to sell her.

Oh and I've even started hacking her out again - something I never thought I would do EVER again!

Finding and buying my perfect pony, and I'm so proud of everything we've done this year...especially going to our first local show: we didn't do very well but he was such a good boy
grin.gif

Bella - going to her 1st large agricultural show and behaving like angel, was so pleased.

Lizzie - Taking her round her 1st clear round, she made me feel so much more confident about my jumping.

Oh goody - a bragging opportunity LOL!

Best achievement with Tobago this year was him being the most popular first-season Arab stally in the UK!
smile.gif

Oh, and exporting his frozen semen to a top European stud!
smile.gif

Unfortunately, I can't actually take any personal credit for this - almost all the breeders who used him had seen him at shows and decided to breed to him ages ago!

Just sheer beginner's luck that I bought such a fabulous colt - he's way too good for a numpty like me!
