What weedkiller do you use to spot spray with.

I have umpteen million weeds in the 13 acres of grazing that I have recently rented. I have had them sprayed by a farmer with graze - on but with little effect really. Although all of the docs and nettles are dying.

I'm left with buttercups and ragwort. What are the most effective weedkillers you have used for these?

(I did start pulling it up with a rag fork but there is so much of it it would take me all year!)

Not used it on buttercups or ragwort (I never get ragwort in my fields) but Depitox is brilliant on docks, thistles and nettles.

I didn't spray it (don't have sprayer) but used it via watering can. I don;t know where you live but I bought it from SCATS (aka Mole Valley Farmers). It comes in 5 litres and you dilute it something like 15ml per 10 litres of water so goes a long way.

When did you have your fields sprayed? Ragwort and buttercups need to be done at rossette stage, so should have been done over a month ago to be effective.

I only took the field on a couple of weeks ago and so only had them done Sunday. I have been recommended ragtime to spot spray has anyone had any success with that?

Butter cup needs to be sprayed early on in the spring. You can still spray them but it will be less effective. You can do it with knapsack if they are not to thick i use agroxone which is for buttercup. For best results you need to take the horses off the pasture or split it and get the half they are not on sprayed by a contractor in the early spring.
